LAND GOLD WOMEN: film screening, London UK, March 21/11

Tongues on Fire
The London Asian Film Festival

Land Gold Women
Shown at the East End Film Festival last year, and supported by Satrangi in the Festival beginning this week in London.

Land Gold Women (Directed by Avantika Hari, India 2010) is a disquieting exploration of a settled British Asian family, suddenly caught up in the mire of so called honour killings. This thought provoking film has won many accolades including Best Film in English Language, Indian National Awards; Official Selection in the prestigious Women’s International Film Festival (Miami 2010) and many more….

Set in the UK, and with a British cast, it features Satrangi Associate actor Narinder Samra in a riveting lead performance: ‘Narinder Samra portrays a silent anger that could erupt at any moment. His acting is frightening, for all the right reasons.’
UK Feminista magazine

Tragically, Land Gold Women has not -despite it’s performance on the World Film Festival circuit- been able to secure a distributor, so I really hope that you will make a special effort to support it at this Tongues on Fire Festival screening.

It screens on
Monday 21st March
6.00 PM
