‘CV’ a poem by Farooq Sulehria

uve-2020-jesus-curia

My trade union membership
party card number
the (scorching) summer spent behind bars
ostracizations (endured) in kabul and damascas
the stinking stony cell of royal fort

late evening
a few kisses stolen on the campus bridge

for a small job opportunity
all the merits of a long life
I must hide in my CV

Art work by Jesús Curiá
